Gerry Aubrey has the unique combination of talents that makes him an excellent A.S.H.I. speaker.  He is a roofing expert, a professional home inspector, holds a degree in education, and is an accomplished speaker.  By combining these talents he can provide home inspectors with exactly the information they need: how to inspect roofing and what to say about the roof.  Mr. Aubrey managed Miller Roofing Company in Narberth, PA from 1974 to 1992.  He was actively involved in all aspects of the roofing business from repairing slate roofs to installing commercial roofing installations.  The company specialized in historic restoration work.  They maintained over 1,000 slate and tile roofs throughout the prestigious Philadelphia Main Line area.  He frequently attended National Roofing Contractor Association conventions and N.R.C.A. seminars.  He has represented Certainteed Corporation of Wayne, PA as part of a seminar program to develop professionalism in the Roofing Industry.  He addressed roofing contractors nationwide and worked directly with Mike Maher, the head of their Shelter Products Division and with Richard Kaller, past director of NRCA.  Mr. Aubrey has served as a Technical and Sales Consultant for R. Kaller and Sons Inc., D.D.P. Roofing, Inc., Hynes Roofing and Contracting, Inc., Smith Roofing Co., and Russell Roofing, Inc.  He presently works as an outside consultant with several of these companies.  He has appeared as an expert witness through out Eastern PA.  His clients include Duane Morris & Hecksher, Post and Schell, Alan Davis, and GAF Roofing Inc.  He has a regular column on Home Maintenance that appears in fifteen newspapers throughout Suburban Philadelphia.  He has also been published in Qualified  Remodeler.  He is an A.S.H.I. Certified Home Inspector and was elected to the Board of Directors of Tri-State A.S.H.I. in May of 2000.  He is also a member of the Roof Consulting Institute.  He addresses A.S.H.I. groups regularly. 

Fee Schedule:

Full program:  Covers all aspects of roofing.  Extensive presentation on shingle roofing installation defects, warranty failures, ice damming, and attic inspections.  Flat roofing presentation focuses on BUR and modified bitumen membranes. Also mentioned are rubber roofing, thermo-plastics and other hybrid flat roofing materials.  Included in the presentation are slate roofing, concrete and terra cotta tile roofing, wood shingles, and metal roofing.  Seminar includes over 350 slides presented in a Microsoft Power Point presentation, as well as visual props and current reference materials.  Allow approximately 8 hrs. for full presentation.  Questions are welcome.  This seminar is packed full of excellent first hand information accumulated by 25 years of climbing on roofs.   Allow full day for this seminar.  A disc containing a PDF file of the entire presentation will be provided.  You can then make multiple copies and include them in your seminar packet.  Costs: Costs are negotiable based on the number of sessions selected and travel.

Single Session, Half day and Full day programs are available: You pick the area of focus.Seminar will be for 2 hr per subject area.Subject area may be Shingle Roofing, Flat Roofing, Ventilation, Interiors, Ice Dams, Severe Weather and Roofing, Finding Hard To Find Leaks, and Specialty roofing such as slate, tile, wood, etc. Single Session Seminar includes over 90 slides presented in a Microsoft Power Point presentation, as well as visual props and current reference materials.
